Emergency situation?
Do not waste time reading if the animal is not breathing or unconscious. Call a vet immediately.
Can't Urinate or Defecate
If a cat repeatedly goes to the litter box, strains, cries out in pain, licks at the genital area, and produces very little urine or none at all, this is an emergency.
Urethral blockage is especially dangerous in male cats: it requires urgent veterinary care, because without treatment it can quickly become life-threatening.

Not a substitute for a vet
The information in this app comes from open sources and the experience of cat owners. It does not replace a consultation or an examination by a vet. Decisions about your pet's health and care are the owner's to make — if in any doubt, contact a vet.
