Emergency situation?

Do not waste time reading if the animal is not breathing or unconscious. Call a vet immediately.

CRITICAL

Vomiting or Diarrhea (with Blood)

If vomiting or diarrhea recurs, lasts more than a few hours, the cat becomes lethargic, cannot keep water down, or blood appears in the vomit or stool, urgent veterinary evaluation is needed.

This can be related to poisoning, infection, or an obstruction, and trying to "wait it out at home" increases the risk of dehydration and deterioration. Do not force the cat to eat or drink.

Not a substitute for a vet

The information in this app comes from open sources and the experience of cat owners. It does not replace a consultation or an examination by a vet. Decisions about your pet's health and care are the owner's to make — if in any doubt, contact a vet.
