Severe Bleeding

For heavy bleeding, apply sterile gauze or a clean cloth and maintain firm, direct pressure. If the dressing soaks through, do not remove it — add another layer on top and keep applying pressure; if a leg is bleeding, you can raise it above heart level on the way to the clinic.
